Ms Evlyn Cheong

Evlyn started as a planner with the Public Works Department before being seconded to the Planning Department and the Urban Redevelopment Authority within MND. She has nearly 30 years of professional and management experience in both Statutory Planning, and Strategic Planning. She led and co-led many projects including the overhaul of the Development Control system. As a Principal Planner, she led the Government Land Sales Programme in URA. She also led a joint MND-MinLaw delegation to Australia to explore the introduction of landed condominium with accompanying amendments to the Land Titles Strata Act, and the Planning Act. As Head, Training, she developed the Planning Foundation Course, and the Advanced PFC for Planners. For the Technical Officers, she set up a training -cum-exam programme to upgrade them to Planning Executives. She led URA to receive the People Developer Award in 2004. Evlyn graduated with a BSc (Estate Management), National University of Singapore, and later obtained a Masters in Town and Country Planning from the University of Sydney.
